Supporting Titchfield High School – Education we believe in and care about

Dear Alumni and Friends,

“Education is the Foundation of a nation”. Our chapter is constantly trying to identify effective, far-reaching enhancements and opportunities to benefit and promote the School’s accomplishments.

Over the last decade, because of your generous support through attendance at our planned fund raising events and contributions to various special projects, the Titchfield School Community was able to make improvements in critical teaching/learning areas and vital student support areas that have a direct positive link to overall student achievements. Your contributions went towards the creation of a Math Lab, Renovation of the Geography Department, The Adopt-A-Class Program, Establishing an Entrepreneurial Club and the purchase of The School Bus, to name only a few projects you helped to make a reality. We want you to know that the Principal, Staff and Students are truly appreciative of your support.

This year’s target is the proposed “Documentation Center”. The School’s operation, the student body and even the community will greatly benefit from this venture. This is essentially a Print Center that will be set up at the school for printing, copying, scanning and performing other document creation related functions which are pivotal to providing curriculum materials and other administrative necessities for the smooth running of the school. Due to the dire economic situation in Jamaica, the cost of printing whatever is needed to meet curriculum, administrative or other school needs have escalated. The equipment they’ve been using over the years have seen their last days.

It is anticipated that the creation of this center will become self-sustaining over the years and will have a positive effect on budgetary matters as the idea is to also open up these services to the surrounding community for a fee. Also, students will benefit directly as those who wish to develop technical skills in running the center will gain important vocational skills.

Can we count on your support this year? No gift will be too big or too small. We need your help today to give current and future children in the Port Antonio/Portland Community the opportunity to receive a good quality High School education.
